HEDVA SCHICKLER, Ph.D.

Dr. Schickler specializes in patent issues mainly in the fields of agriculture, biotechnology, nutrition and cell biology. Hedva has extensive experience in assessment of patentability, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, including opposition procedures, and advising clients on patent strategy and portfolio management.
Dr. Schickler joined Webb + Co. in February 2002 after three years of experience in the biotech industry as Head of Research and Development at I.B.R., Israeli Biotechnology Research, a company developing and manufacturing active ingredients from natural sources for cosmetic, pharmaceutical and agricultural use. Prior to that she held a position as lecturer at the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Education: Ph.D. in plant physiology (direct track), Department of Agricultural Botany, The Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. B.Sc. in Agriculture from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Schickler was also trained as a post-doctoral fellow at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, U.S.A. Fellowship was granted by BARD – USA-Israel Bi-national Agriculture Research and Development Fund.
