Dr. Webb specializes in the chemical, biological and pharmaceutical fields, focusing on small molecule pharmaceuticals, chemical synthesis and analytical chemistry. Dr. Webb has extensive experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, patentability and freedom to operate opinions, and advising clients on patent strategy and portfolio management.
Dr. Webb joined Webb + Co. in 2004. She is experienced in US patent prosecution and opinion writing, acquired during her appointment at Winston & Strawn, LLP, New York. She is a registered Patent Attorney in Israel and is a Patent Agent registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Previously, Dr. Webb was at ATON Pharma Inc., where she was part of the project team that led to the development of SAHA (Vorinostat, Zolinza), currently being marketed for the treatment of Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma.
Education: Dr. Yael Webb obtained her B.Sc. in Chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She received her M.A., M. Phil. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University (New York). Her thesis research focused on the development of histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors for the treatment of cancer. Dr. Webb also trained as a post-doctoral fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York) focusing on the development of small molecule inhibitors of Src family kinases.
